Dennison’s Fire Chief says a Midvale house is basically a total loss following a blaze that broke out late Thursday.
Dave McConnell says they were sent to the 43 hundred block of State Street – near the elementary school – just before 11:50pm Thursday night. They arrived to heavy fire from the enclosed front porch, which extended into the living room, up the walls, and into the attic.
McConnel notes the woman and her 9-year-old son were out of time at the time. No people were injured but two dogs died.
The cause is possibly electrical or spontaneous combustion from oily rags. Damage estimate is about $100,000. The blaze also caused some damage to the siding of a neighboring home.
