Mildred Marie “Millie” Veigel, 78, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia. Born August 24, 1943, in Dennison, she was the daughter of the late Russell Daniel and Minnie Ethel (Ankrom) Clum.

Millie grew up in Port Washington where she was a Purple Rider, having been a member of the 1961 graduating class at Port Washington High School. A resident of the Twin City area for over 55 years, Millie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker who had also worked for the former Handy and Harmon in Dover, as well as in-home healthcare. She was a member of the Uhrichsville Women of the Moose and the Tops Group, and she was an avid bowler.

On October 25, 1968, Millie wed Robert L. Veigel who survives her at their home. She is also survived by their sons, Joseph L. Veigel and Daniel A. Veigel; grandchildren, Johnny Herron, Zachary Veigel, Nathan Veigel, and Vanessa Veigel; her siblings, Richard L. Clum, Donald E. Clum, and Mary L. King; half-brother, Jack Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert A. Veigel; sisters, Phyllis J. Clum, Alice F. Kieffer, and Audrey M. Meek; and step-grandson, Donald Fox-Miller.

Services, officiated by Pastor Andy McClung, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. She will be interred in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery on a future date. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
