An attic fire caused minimal damage at a trucking company’s mechanic shop near Beach City Friday morning.

Wayne Township Fire Chief Josh Yoder says the owner called 9-1-1 just before 9 a.m. and had already begun putting water on the fire when crews arrived in the 7700 block. They saw smoking coming out of the building, quickly located the fire and put it out.

Yoder estimated the damage at 600 to 800 dollars with just a burnt trestle and insulation. It’s accidental, with Yoder blaming it on some faulty wiring. He says the company will still be able to operate in of the building.
