The State Highway Patrol says two people avoided serious injury when their pickup truck rolled over while swerving to miss a deer late Sunday night east of Zoarville.
New Philadelphia Post Sgt. Clinton Armstrong says it happened on State Route 212 shortly before 11 p.m.
“The pickup traveled off the right side of the road and returned to the roadway, crossing the center line. The truck then traveled off the left side of the road. It struck a guardrail and overturned onto its left side.”
Armstrong says the 37-year-old driver from the Sherrodsville area and the 43-year-old Canton passenger were taken to Aultman Hospital for evaluation.
Authorities were on scene until just before 1 a.m. Monday morning. Armstrong says the driver was cited for failure to control.
