The local Martin Luther King Day committee has announced its speaker and some changes for its upcoming annual service at Dover’s First Baptist church.
The event for its first time ever won’t be happening on the actual holiday. Instead, it’s been moved up to this Sunday at 7 pm to avoid any conflicts Monday with the presidential inauguration.
Vietnam War veteran and author reverend henry Leon McNeil will be the keynote address speaker. He’s served at churches in the twin cities, as well as the Akron, Canton, and Youngstown areas.
The Dover First Baptist church has hosted its annual king day celebration every year since becoming a federal holiday in 1986.
