Mary Alice Reporting –
An early morning blaze in Union Township resulted in $30,000 in damage.
Dennison Fire Department was toned out Sunday, at about 5am, to 2572 Canary Road.
Chief Dave McConnell says that assisting units included Uhrichsville, Warwick Township, Arrowhead Joint, and Smith Ambulance.
“Upon arrival, we had a one story residential, a double wide trailer, with heavy smoke showing out of the front and side. Crews stretched a line in the backdoor and was able to go in and knock the fire down, and then we had other crews go in and do overhaul for extension.”
Two family members were home at the time but were able to escape uninjured.
The blaze started in a bedroom and has been ruled accidental; however, a cause is undetermined.
Chief McConnell notes that a smoke detector was in the home but not working.
