Uhrichsville Police Officers were dispatch Monday, just after 5pm, to a west side home for a burglary report and two individuals are facing charges.
K9 Captain Mike Hickman noted, in a release, that the victim reported a safe containing a large sum of money, other valuable items, and a handgun were stolen while they were away from their home.
Hickman and Officer Stark collected information and evidence at the scene, and were able to obtain names of two potential suspects.
Through the investigation, Officers learned that the suspects were at a hotel in the Village of Strasburg.
A search of the hotel room was completed and a majority of the money and other items identified from the safe were recovered. Suspected controlled substances were also located inside the room.
Uhrichsville residents, 45-year-old Robert “Bobby” Greenwalt Jr, and 35-year-old Bridgett Burkhart were served with multiple felony charges as a result of the burglary. Additional felony charges are likely for both.
Assisting in the investigation was the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office and the Village of Strasburg Police Department.
