Monroe “Monk” Miller, 75, of Dover, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover.

Born in Dover on January 13, 1950, he is the son of late Melvin A. and Mary (Miller) Miller.  He married the former Debbie Weckesser on August 20, 1983.

Monroe was retired, previously working in construction and as a private contractor.  He also was a driver for Superb Industries. He was a member of The Branch Church in Baltic.

In addition to his wife Debbie, he is survived by their three children Andrea (Seth) McRobie of Dover, Darron (Shelly) Miller of Parma, and Sheldon Miller of Wooster; two grandchildren Lucas and Leyton; siblings Anna Short and Al (Irene) Miller both of Sarasota, Melvin Jr. (Mary) Miller of Millersburg, Marvin (Elsie) Miller of Walnut Creek, Verna (Melvin) Troyer of Brinkhaven, Mary (Nelson) Yoder of Sugarcreek, Ada (Dan) Yoder of Sugarcreek, Jonas (Jeanie) Miller of Wilmot, Lovina Troyer of Sugarcreek; and sisters-in-law, Alma Miller of Berlin and Alberta Miller of Dover.

Preceding him in death are his siblings Andy Miller, Edward Miller, Alma Miller and Nelson Miller; ; and brothers-in-law Richard Short, and Jonas D. Troyer.

Services will be held at The Branch Church Baltic on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Marlin Beachy.  Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery in Sugarcreek.  Friends may call at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek on Sunday June 1, 2025 from 2-5 p.m.
