Hunters took advantage of an extra two-day hunting season across Ohio and harvested 15,469.

The extra weekend was Saturday and Sunday and according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the top five counties for the two days were Coshocton at 534 and then Tuscarawas with 505 harvested deer, followed by Ashtabula, Carroll, and Knox.

Following the weekend, gun hunters have checked a total of 96,136 deer this year.

Through Sunday, December 17th, archery hunters have harvested over 89,800. This season continues until February 4th.

Ohio’s muzzleloader opportunity is January 6th through the 9th.
