Dover is getting more than 3 million dollars from the state and federal government to make sewer and stormwater upgrades and repairs on the city’s north side.

City Council this week approved a 1.8 million dollar federal grant to replace a pump station and enlarge and reline some existing sewer lines.

Mayor Shane Gunne says the city had already received 1.2 million dollars in state and federal money toward that project, which should start later this year.

Dover is also getting a 185-thousand dollar state grant to repair a busted storm sewer line near the Tuscarawas River. Service Director Dave Douglas says they would like to start the project as soon as possible.

Gunnoe says with the addition of these two grants, the city has received 11 million dollars in state and federal grants over the last three years.
