Developers are making progress on plans that in total will add more than 100 new homes in Dover.

This month the city’s planning commission reviewed and provided feedback on a preliminary sketch of a proposed subdivision on St. Peter’s Church Road in north Dover.

Mayor Shane Gunnoe says the plan from Lawver Homes consists of about 30 single family homes and around 50 condominiums and duplexes.

The planning commission also approved a preliminary plat for the six-home Earley Woodlands Addition on Winkler and Jennifer drives on the city’s east side. Construction is expected to begin in the spring.

Meanwhile, a new developer is taking over the Iron 24 project on East Iron Avenue near Union Hospital. KSMG Sugarcreek expects to have the 24 townhomes complete by the end of 2026

Gunnoe also recently helped cut the ribbon for Uplifted Boutique in the former location of Smash Restaurant on Wooster Avenue. The boutique partners with Advocates for Success to provide workplace skill development and experience for individuals in the community.
