Nick McWilliams Reporting –

Further funding is being made available for Dover to overhaul an access road for an upcoming build of a manufacturing plant on the north end.

According to Mayor Shane Gunnoe, additional funding through JobsOhio has been announced for the reconstruction of Crown Road, which will be used by the incoming Schaeffler Group for their upcoming build of a plant.

“JobsOhio has increased their contribution to the Crown Road improvement project by an additional $120,000. In total, between the Ohio Department of Transportation and JobsOhio — the Ohio Department of Development — the city now expects to receive grant reimbursement of nearly $1,090,000 towards the Crown Road upgrades.”

The mayor adds that an additional funding request will be filed in April to the Governor’s Office of Appalachia for more reimbursements, and the city will hear back later this year.

In other city news, hydrant flushing is expected to start Monday, April 22nd at 12 a.m., which will continue through Friday, May 3rd.
