The Ohio Department of Transportation has chosen its plan to ease congestion and improve safety along the U.S. 62 and State Route 39 corridor just west of Berlin in Holmes County.
After reviewing several options and gathering public feedback, ODOT says it will build two single-lane roundabouts at County Road 201 and State Route 557.
District 11 Public Information Officer Lauren Borell says the design takes into account concerns about heavy buggy and e-scooter traffic in the area.
Construction of those roundabouts—along with another planned for State Route 39 at Walnut Creek—is scheduled for 2028. Borell says ODOT will also launch an outreach effort to help drivers get ready as the project approaches.
Residents can continue submitting feedback through March 22 on potential social, environmental, and economic impacts. Details on how to comment are available on ODOT’s website.
