
A Mineral City man was killed after the motorcycle he was driving struck a tree that had fallen across the roadway.
The New Philadelphia Highway Patrol Post says the accident happened just after 7 p.m. on Wednesday on County Road 66 in Union Township.
A 1999 Harley Davidson Road King Classic was traveling northbound when it struck the downed tree, overturned and went off the right side of the road.
The driver of the motorcycle, 47-year-old Michael McHale of Mineral City, was first taken to Union Hospital then air-lifted to Akron General where he succumbed to his injuries.
He was wearing a helmet. The crash remains under investigation.
