Mary Alice Reporting – A 34-year-old is still being held in the Tuscarawas County Justice Center.
Corey Harshey is charged with aggravated murder, murder, and aggravated burglary. All counts carry a repeat violent offender specification.
Harshey appeared via video for a hearing Monday morning with Tuscarawas County Common Pleas Judge Michael Ernest.
At issue is keeping court proceedings moving forward and the competency evaluation.
“The first hurdle we need to make sure we get over is having that competency evaluation completed. It sounds as if the folks at the Forensic District 9 are close to having all the information that they need, and once they have it entirely, they will be able to issue that report.”
Harshey is accused of fatally stabbing his 44-year-old neighbor, Nathan Green, in October 2022.
