Mary Alice Reporting –

Tickets will go quick for an event that invites participants to solve a murder mystery.

The fundraiser, hosted by the Friends of the Library, includes food and actors mingling with the guests to provide clues into a possible motive and a suspect.

Writer Tamara Benson says this year’s concept takes place at a memorial as a group of mystery lovers, who dress up as fictional detectives, are mourning the death of one of their members, but find out it was murder.

“As usual, we encourage people to come dressed as something that fits the theme, so either come dressed as your favorite detective or come dressed as a mourner cause it’s a memorial.”

The event is sponsored in partnership with the New Philadelphia VFW Post 1445, and tickets are $50 for the fundraiser says Friends of the Library President Candy Beaber.

“We do a lot of things. Provide money for programs, we provide a scholarship, support the healthy snacks for the kids during the summer, buy books, we recently purchased a play touch table for the children’s department, and just numerous other requests.”

Two dates are available, Saturday, March 2nd at 6:30pm and March 3rd, at 1pm.

Seating is limited and ticket reservations are required before Monday, February 26th.

Tickets can be purchased at the Main Library, in New Philadelphia.
