MWCD Accepts First Place Award at OPRA Conference

The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District received a first place award at the Ohio Park and Recreation Association (OPRA) annual conference.

The OPRA Annual Awards of Excellence were presented on February 6^th, with the MWCD receiving a 1^st place award in the health and wellness category.

Their new initiative in 2023, “Capture the Canvas”, was created to bring artwork to the MWCD trails. Five local high schools created original pieces on nature for the program.

Last year, trail users were encouraged to find the canvas, take a selfie, and upload it to the MWCD website for the chance to win a prize.

Capture the Canvas 2024 will begin on May 24^th and end on September 2^nd. For details on registration and prize opportunities, visit www.mwcd.org or their social medias.
