Gwen Rummell Reporting –

Harrison County Commissioners listened to a proposal from the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD) for a new centralized training center.

The center would be built in the Tappan Lake region and the goal is to obtain funding from the state, where about $750 million is being sorted through.

If the project is approved, the construction would begin. The facility includes training for fire, police, and EMS with a goal of recruiting and maintaining staff.

Commissioner Paul Coffland showed his support stating that training and retaining first responders in Harrison County would be a huge asset.
