Myron J.“Jeff” Vanwy, age 62, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in his Canton home. Fondly referred to as Mongo, he was born on February 25, 1963 to the late Myron Jay and Marilyn Ogle Vanwy.
Jeff worked at Wather’s Bar and Grill in Canton and retired in 2025 after many years of service. He was a friend to everyone, and would offer all he had to help, while accepting nothing in return for his kindness.
Jeff will be missed by his sister, Myra Johnson, of New Philadelphia and brother, Jerry Vanwy of Florida; nieces Taylor Vagi and Shannon Johnson; and nephew Scott Johnson. In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by an infant brother, Larry Vanwy.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. There are no services or calling hours.
