Nancy Lee Paden, known by many as “Irish”, of Dover, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, Ohio after a lengthy illness, at the age of 79. Born May 21, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Ernest F. and Anna E. (Davis) Young.

A loving mother, grandmother, and homemaker, she will be deeply missed by her surviving family which includes her son and daughter-in-law, Sammie L. and Susan Paden and their daughters, Abigail, Hannah (Ryan Seim), Elisabeth, and Rachel; son, Daniel M. Paden; daughter, Kathleen A. Paden-Bilardo and her children, Nicholas, Anna, Stefanie, and Anthony; sisters, Loretta Zingale and Darlene (Frank) Lanza; half-brother, Charles Nadolski; brothers, James (Neva) Young and Robert Young; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Harkleroad.

Nancy lived in Tuscarawas County for much of her life and had worked for a variety of area businesses including several area restaurants, the office at the New Philadelphia Goodwill store, selling insurance, and most recently in security for Battle Motors (formerly Kimble Mixers). She was an avid sports fan throughout her life who especially loved watching the Cleveland Indians and NFL games. She also enjoyed gardening and attending live theater productions. Most of all, she delighted in the time that she spent with her grandchildren.

According to Nancy’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation. Pastor John Wallace will officiate a graveside service at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, at Dover Burial Park where she will be laid to rest beside her sister. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave., S.W., New Philadelphia, OH  44663
