Nancy Lou Rufener, age 84, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Hennis Care Centre in Dover, following a short illness.
Born July 14, 1940, in Sugarcreek, O., Nancy is the daughter of the late Earl and Donna (Torgler) Bahler.
Nancy graduated from Garaway High School and operated Dale’s Heating and Cooling in Uhrichsville for 24 years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and crafts. For years, Nancy volunteered at Trinity Hospital Twin City, Friends of the Homeless Shelter, Performing Art Center, Community Hospice of Tuscarawas Co. and Browse and Buy. She was a member of the United Volunteer Auxiliary at Trinity Hospital Twin City and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Uhrichsville.
In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband Dale Rufener and two sons Michael and Steven Swihart.
Nancy is survived by her children Douglas (Lori) Swihart of Dover, Matthew (Jennifer) Swihart of Medina and Bradley (Coreena) Rufener of Ragersville; 12 grandchildren Justin (Cassie), Jory (Emily), Aaron, Kori, Joey, Tommy and Zachary (Heather) Swihart, Amanda Sanders, Stephanie (Aaron) Viscounte, Dale (Tisha) Rufener, Dani (Timmy) Coen and Nicole Ross and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Nancy will be held at 6 p.m., on Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. in Uhrichsville. Inurnment will take place at Dover Burial Park at a later date.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m., (two hours prior to services) on Friday, at the funeral home.
