Nellie L. Haney, 85, of Newcomerstown, passed away on August 9, 2022, at her home. She was born June 19, 1937, in Guernsey Co. to the late Forest and Wilma Ruth (Hursey) Shearer. Nellie was a 1954 Newcomerstown High School graduate. She was retired from Kraft Foods of Coshocton and attended Victory Assembly of God, Newcomerstown. She loved spending time with her work friends and volunteered at Journey’s End Ministries.On October 2, 1954, she married Donald Haney who passed away July 27, 2010. Nellie is survived by her daughter, Terri (Steve) Wootton of New Concord; two grandchildren, Amber (Seth) Hertlein and Nicolas (Vicki) Wootton; three great-grandchildren, Mia Wootton, Arlo, and Eli Hertlein; her two sisters, Florene Lawrence of Port Washington and Goldie Abbuhl of Newcomerstown; sister-in-law, Mona “Boot” Smith; brother-in-law, Jimmy Haney; several nieces and nephews; also her loving companion, Minnard Gray; and special caregivers, Shelley and Jo. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Willis Shearer, Donna Smith and Bill Smith.
Services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Addy Funeral Home with Pastor Earl Miller officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown.
