The new Tuscarawas County Democratic Party chair is up for the challenge of bringing more candidates and voters into the party.
Mike DiDonato, of Dover, was selected by the executive committee as the new chair following the recent resignation of Gail Garbrandt.
DiDonato says he’s been active within the local party since early 2000’s and mentored under Garbrandt.
He’s grateful for the opportunity and wants to reach out to people in every precinct of the county.
Meanwhile, DiDonato says it’s unfortunate the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office would not let Jeremiah Johnson serve another term on the county board of elections due to a 2024 conviction on failure to pay business taxes.
The party’s nominee to replace Johnson is Kathy Bachman, of New Philadelphia.
