Mary Alice Reporting –
The New Philadelphia Police Department is hoping to phase in a new design for their cruisers as funding allows.
One vehicle had no markings on it, or other equipment, and Chief Tessa Pohovey was able to create a modern look.
She says it pays homage to markings police cars used to have.
“I kind of had a vision for what I wanted them to look like. I wanted to do a throwback to the old school black and white, but with a more modern look to it and all of that is reflective. They’re very bold. We’re going for a much more high visible look than the current design we have.”
The police cruiser fleet will maintain its current look of dark lettering until money becomes available to allow for a full change.
