New royalty was crowned on Saturday and will represent the local area through her travels and at the Miss Ohio competition.

Miss Clayland saw eight young women vying for the top spot and following the judge interview,

on-stage question, fitness/health, talent, and evening wear, 2023 Miss Ohio Madison Miller announced the winner.

Olivia Fosson is 23-years-old, from Kitts Hill, in Lawrence County.

“I’m so excited. I can’t wait to go back to Miss Ohio. It feels so surreal to get to do this again, and Miss Clayland has always been one of my dream titles, and I’ve looked up to the women who’ve held this title for so long.”

Her community initiative is “Body Neutral: Celebrate, Connect, Create”.

“It was inspired by my career ending injury and my road to recovery from that and my eating disorder, so I focus on three populations; students, the workforce, and seniors, to convey this message to them to move your body, to fuel it in a way that is good for you, and to be really respectful of rest as well.”

As part of the Fosson’s win, she received $3,500 in scholarship.

The first runner-up was Faith Claypool, 19, of Portsmouth, getting a $450 scholarship.
