Mary Alice Reporting – William Courtright was named as the 2022 Dispatcher of the Year, receiving recognition by two Ohio senators.

Courtright appeared on the Senate floor Wednesday with Senator’s Al Landis and Andrew Brenner.

Working at the New Philadelphia post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, he was selected as the 2022 honoree out of 10 District recipients, said Landis.

“Since joining the patrol, in February 2012, at the Cambridge District Headquarters, Dispatcher Courtright has been selected as Dispatcher of the Year for his post seven times, and Dispatcher of the Year in the district four times. In 2015, he also earned the Gold Star award.”

Brenner noted how vital communication specialists are, especially in a law enforcement capacity, as they are the first point of contact in a crisis.

“Dispatcher Courtright has demonstrated enthusiasm, dedication, and awareness through his performance in his day-to-day work activities as he works with the public and his peers.”

The senator’s also pointed out Courtright’s technical knowledge and abilities.

Another Point of Personal Privilege recognized Trooper Dana Skinner, who has served the OSP for 22 years at several posts and as an academy instructor, as she was recognized as the 2022 Trooper of the Year.
