New Philadelphia School District officials are addressing some of the uncertainties surrounding the 72-million-dollar bond issue going back before voters in May.
During a Monday evening work session, board members settled on a location for a new middle-high school, agreeing to build it beside the current one.
Jennifer Shrock is part of the board’s facilities committee and couldn’t envision the new school anywhere else.
Board members including Kelly Ricklic also cited the need for a traffic study to alleviate concerns about traffic congestion around the proposed site for a new pre-school through sixth-grade building.
Superintendent Amy Wentworth is awaiting the architect’s initial rendering but says there will be separate entrances and exits for buses and other vehicles.
The school board intends to formally request the study and announce its pick for a middle-high school location during the March 10th meeting.
