Gwen Rummell reporting – The 2023 Ohio 4-H Achievement Awards were presented earlier this month at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center in Columbus. The Citizenship and Community Service Achievement Award was awarded to Allison Kendle from New Philadelphia.
Sixteen-year-old Kendle is an 11 year member of 4-H and has worked on a variety of projects centered on community service. Along with her dedication to 4-H, she has served as a camp counselor, is on the Food and Fashion Board, and has contributed to Quilts of Valor. Kendle is the daughter of Todd and Christine Kendle and will be a junior this fall attending New Philadelphia High School.
The Ohio 4-H Achievement Awards ceremony was hosted by the Ohio 4-H Foundation. 28 individuals received 2023 honors for outstanding work in their project area.
Ohio 4-H is the youth development program of the Ohio State University Extension, the outreach arm of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. The program showed major success in 2022, with over 130,000 Ohio youth participating in clubs, groups, and special interest programs.
