Gwen Rummell Reporting –
A New Philadelphia City School District operating levy is up for renewal after 10 years.
The original levy was passed in 2014 and represents approximately 8.7% of the district’s yearly budget.
Wentworth emphasized the importance of community involvement in voting.
“New Philadelphia City Schools is proud to continue to support our students and we want to provide them with the best opportunities that we can and this levy will allow us to continue to do that.”
The levy funds daily operations including teacher and staff salaries, utilities, maintenance, textbooks, and supplies.
The renewal is responsible for $3 million per year for the district. If passed, there will be no tax increase.
