Following a football game on October 12th, an assault was reported and a suspect was arrested.
The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office released that the altercation occurred at Knights Stadium, at West Holmes High School, during a ninth grade football game.
46-year-old Raymond Korns II, of New Philadelphia, was arrested as he attempted to flee the area. The Sheriff’s Office notes that Korns was located by a responding deputy on State Route 39, coming into the Village of Millersburg, where Korns was stopped and arrested.
An investigation determined that Korns was on the home side of the stadium and struck two adult males in the stands, causing visible injuries to the face, with the 72-year-old Millersburg man being transported to a hospital and then the 52-year-old victim declining treatment.
While attempting to leave, in his Honda Civic, Korns struck an adult pedestrian who was trying to keeping him from leaving. That person received minor injuries.
Korns was charged with assault and leaving the scene of an accident and that Friday, was released on a $50,000 cash/surety bond.
