Monday was a special day for our stations here at 2424 East High Avenue.
New Philadelphia Mayor Joel Day declared it WJER Radio Appreciation Day and recognized WTUZ’s sister station’s recent move to his city with a proclamation at the New Philadelphia Council meeting.
“Whereas WJER will continue to provide local news, sports, entertainment, and community service to generations of listeners. Whereas the City of New Philadelphia is honored to welcome WJER Radio to New Philadelphia where both the Voice of the Valley and Z-Country will broadcast from the county seat of Tuscarawas County.”
WJER moved to the East High address earlier this year to operate alongside WTUZ, the 75-year-old station’s new owner after purchasing it from Lauren International in 2024.
