The New Philadelphia highway patrol post is accepting donations for the local Toys for Tots program.

Trooper Seth Oszust is overseeing the collection that runs through December 15th and will benefit kids in Tuscarawas and Carroll counties.

“We’ll collect the toys and then we will, on the 15th, take them over to Sherrodsville and they will do the rest, making sure the families get the toys.”

The New Philadelphia post is located at 2454 East High Avenue. There are boxes in the lobby where new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off around the clock, or drive-up Saturday from 10 until 2.

“This is just our way of giving back to the community. Making sure kids are taken care of during the holidays.”

This is the second time the patrol has collected toys for the cause.
