Mary Alice Reporting –

A localized recognition has been handed down to an Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper and Dispatcher.

Fellow New Philadelphia Post officers chose someone to be awarded the recognition of Trooper of the Year and for 2023, it went to 29-year-old Alex Carroll. This honor was based upon his leadership abilities, professional ethics, and cooperation with supervisors, peers, and the public.

Carroll is a 2012 New Philadelphia High School graduate and joined OSP in 2017.

Named as 2023 Dispatcher of the Year, that honor went again to William Courtright. The 44-year-old joined OSP in 2012. This awards’ criteria include technical job knowledge, attitude, teamwork, and courteous response to the public.

Carroll and Courtright are now in the running to be awarded as District or State Trooper and Dispatcher of the year.
