The New Philadelphia Health Department is heading back out to spray for mosquitoes where four more samples have tested positive for West Nile virus.
The Ohio Health Department has notified the city about the results from samples collected between July 23rd and 25th from surveillance sites at Tuscora park, the Fair Street cemetery, and Commercial Avenue southeast near Cookson Avenue.
Health commissioner Nicole Bache says the city health department still hasn’t been notified of any human cases of West Nile for a few years.
Spraying is scheduled for a one-mile radius around each of those sites where mosquito samples tested positive this Thursday night, weather permitting.
