Gwen Rummell Reporting –

A new community calendar was announced at a recent City of New Philadelphia council meeting.

Yodel, an app and website, is already in use by Newcomerstown and Coshocton. Yodel shows users local entertainment, family fun, and popular events.

Mayor Joel Day says he believes this calendar will help citizens and travelers discover more events.

“My Executive Assistant Jami Bailey has been working to develop a community calendar where everyone can go to find out what’s happening in New Philadelphia. As a result of her effort, the city has partnered with a company called ‘Yodel’”

Bailey stated she has reached out to businesses to spread the word of the calendar. Upcoming events on the calendar include library events, annual celebrations, restaurant advertisements, and more.

Yodel can be downloaded from the Apple app store or the Google Play store, and a web version can be found under “What’s Happening” at www.newphilaoh.com.
