New Philadelphia’s treasurer Tom Gerber is retiring to some fanfare from his admiring colleagues.
Mayor Joel Day read a proclamation declaring Monday December 22, 2025 as Tom Gerber Appreciation Day to recognize his 11 years as city treasurer.
Law Director Marvin Fete said Gerber’s public service started well before he was appointed to the treasurer post.
Michelle Campbell will be the city’s new treasurer. She ran unopposed in the November election.
