The New Philadelphia School Board awarded Carole Sutton a three-year contract in March to replace Amy Wentworth as the school district’s top administrator. She officially started earlier this month.
“I am absolutely enjoying every minute of it. I’ve been having meetings, individual meetings with staff members and community members, and they’re going really well. On August 17th we’ll be welcoming teachers back and we’ll be ready for school to open on August 20th.”
Sutton, a Salem native, has been a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent and most recently human resources director with the Stark County Educational Service Center over the course of a 20-plus year career in education.
Wentworth is leaving to take the reins at Indian Valley where her husband, Ira Wentworth, is retiring as superintendent.
