As part of the City of Uhrichsville’s Mayor’s report to council Thursday evening was the announcement of the hiring of a Service Director.
The 2022 Claymont graduate and current Kent State University student is pursuing a business management degree and is also local realtor.
Mayor Jim Zucal said Cade Watkins is now in his second week in the part-time position.
“He is a resident of our community. Outstanding young man. Brings a lot to the table and I look forward to working with him, and I know he looks forward to working with all of you.”
Watkins was able to give council a report on what he’s been up to the past few weeks driving around and getting acquainted with city service needs.
“Such as the abandoned rails program, cleaning up, and selling the west side yard along with other city owned lots and hopefully attract more single-family housing.”
Watkins added there also needs to be a focus on rehabilitating some streets and alleys. He noted to Trenton Avenue project was going well and everything is on schedule.
