The Tuscarawas County Democratic Central Committee has picked Rachel Rothacher to fill the seat vacated by Susan Solvey’s recent retirement.
Rothacher switches to the city finance offices from the school district, where she is assistant treasurer.
The Kent State grad has also worked for the Tuscarawas County Public Library System, the village of Sugarcreek, the Ohio EPA and as the Administrative Director of the Stark, Tusc., Wayne Recycling District.
The Democratic Central Committee picked Rothacher out of three applicants who had to be Dover residents and registered Democrats.
She will finish the term that ends in late 2027. The treasurer position will be on the ballot in November 2027.
