Nick McWilliams reporting – An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper who graduated the in 171st Academy Class has been assigned to New Philadelphia.
The 29 candidates graduated after a 30 week course of training in crash investigation, criminal and traffic law, impaired driving detection, firearms, and more.
The first official day for the new graduates, will be June 11th, following by 70 working days of field training.
Among the graduates was Spencer Day of Canton, who was assigned to the Cambridge District, where he will be based out of New Phila.
In total, the 29 graduates were assigned to 20 different posts. The patrol has 59 posts statewide.
