New Philadelphia officials are promoting the new additions to Tuscora Park.

Mayor Joel Day says a ribbon-cutting for the new inclusive playground will take place on Sunday, May 24th, at 2 p.m.

Project leader Preston Cornell had been leading fundraising efforts with a target goal of 500-thousand dollars. While the equipment is up, the city is asking people to stay off the new playground until the rest has been completed.

Meanwhile, Day says RTY is adding some other new features to Tuscora Park, like kiddie rides.

Elsewhere, the city’s Arbor Day tree planting ceremony will take place a week from Friday on April 24th. The city will plant a bald Cyprus tree at the corner of Wabash Avenue and Lakeview Drive Northwest.
