Three new members took a seat at the table to serve the City of Uhrichsville following their wins in the November election.

Southern District Court Judge JJ Ong conducted the ceremony, during a Tuesday evening special meeting, swearing in returning councilman Matt Fox. The newest members are Paulette Clark, Harold Shamel, and Leigh Ann McCray. Their term is through 2027.

The special meeting then moved forward with the purpose of passing a temporary budget, which will allow bills and employees to be paid into the first six months.

“I don’t know the exact amounts, but I would say that it’s comparable to last year, but we’re in a positive light. The Water Park is our big fish to fry and we’re going to watch that closely. It’s been over budget for a few years but we’re going to make it strong, effective, and financially solvent.”

The previous person that chaired the finance committee is no longer on council, with the Council President responsible for appointing a new chair. Zucal says he will collaborate with Buck Cottrell since the best choice would be Clark, who had worked in the banking sector previously.
