~ Anyone wanting to vote in the May primary will need to make sure they are registered or make changes by this Monday, April 3rd. Online registration is available at www.boe.ohio.gov/tuscarawas but can be done in-person, at the local election office in the Tuscarawas County Courthouse, between 8am and 9pm.

The May 2nd ballot features races for Dover mayor with two republican candidates in Shane Gunnoe and Nicholas Homrighausen and for the Law Director, incumbent Douglas O’Meara and Gina Space. In Uhrichsville, the mayor’s race is contested with two democrats in incumbent Mark Haney and current councilman James Zucal. Property tax renewals and increases are also listed for the villages of Port Washington and Strasburg.

~ The Run for Home fundraiser event is this weekend and the race takes participants on city streets. Traffic and runners are asked to share Dover city roads with April 1st events including a kids’ egg run, one-mile fun run, 5K, and 10K. For Sunday, it will be a half-marathon and team relay. Dollars raised at this year’s Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital Run for Home will go to Habitat for Humanity, says Director Matt Ritzert.

Saturday registration opens at 8am, with the free kids run starting at 9:15am and the one-mile event beginning at 9:30am. For Sunday, registration opens at 6am. For more details, go to www.runforhome.org.

~ The City of Dover has released their 2022 water quality report. The water supply is from an underground source, the Sugar Creek Basin Aquifer, and the city has five wells that draw from this supply. The water is pumped into the treatment plant and treated. As part of the report, it’s noted that Dover water is monitored for a variety of substances on a strict sampling schedule. The full report is available at www.doverohio.com
