~ Safe Communities of Tuscarawas County, through the Health Department, is hosting a safety day this Saturday, from 10am to noon. The event will offer free car seat checks, a limited number of bicycle helmets, driver information and more. A guest will speak at 11am and a Uhrichsville fire truck will be available for viewing. The family is invited to the event at the Uhrichsville McDonald’s at McCauley Drive.

~ The downtown area of New Philadelphia is expected to see more traffic this Sunday for Art on the Alley. The event, hosted by the Tuscarawas Arts Partnership, will feature local artists and vendors, as well as musical talent. This is the 6th annual event, happening from 11am to 4pm, will encompass three blocks of vendors and three stages. Individuals are invited to stop by the setup vendors but also at downtown small businesses. Traffic may be stopped at times to allow pedestrians to cross the street.

~ The Tuscarawas County Engineer’s Office is planning for a culvert replacement project. This will cause daily closures, from 7am to 4pm, on Gravel Lick Road between River Hill and Murphy Valley. The work is expected to occur from May 22nd through the 24th.
