~ The Tuscarawas County Democratic Party’s Executive Committee has set a meeting date for Tuesday, September 12th, at their headquarters, on Monroe Street, in New Philadelphia.
The agenda for the 6pm meeting will include regular business as members vote on a proposal to amend the Party’s Constitution and By-Laws, as well as, nominating and electing a person to the role of Executive Committee Secretary. This unexpired term will begin September 12th and conclude on the day of the May 2026 Primary Election.
~ Starting Monday, August 28th, the Ohio Department of Transportation District 11 will have State Route 800, in Harrison County, closed. Work is replacing a culvert and vehicles will not be permitted on the section, just north of Tippecanoe, for the next five days.
~ In more Harrison County road work, ODOT notes that State Route 646 (College Street) will be closed for 60 days, starting September 5th. This is part of an ongoing intersection improvement project in Scio. A detour will be posted. District 11 reminds motorists to use caution in and around work zones.
