News Brief: Uhrichsville Alley Vacation Hearing, Sheriff’s Office Recertified, Art on Alley Postponed

~ A public meeting has been scheduled by the City of Uhrichsville. This relates to the vacation of Poplar Alley for BellStores, who are expected to preform major upgrades to the gas station at McCauley Drive. The public hearing is schedule for Thursday, May 9^th, at 6:30pm, at the municipal building. The regular council meeting will follow at 7pm.

~ From the Ohio of Criminal Justice Services, agencies have completed the certification process to adopt and implement standards regarding use of force and hiring and recruitment. Among the law enforcement agencies to be recertified was the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office.

~ Due to anticipated rainy weather over the weekend, a popular downtown event, in New Philadelphia, has been rescheduled. Art on the Alley was created to showcase local artists and support the creative community. The event, featuring vendors, food trucks, and musical performances, was originally set for this Sunday, but has been rescheduled for May 19th, from 11am to 4pm. The fall event is still set for October 13^th.
