Mary Alice Reporting –

A center is opening in New Towne Mall to help parents who may need a few hours to do an interview, run errands, or other personal needs.

Flourish by Newsymom will provide a state-licensed space for children aged 18 months to 5 years old that will be staffed with qualified professionals. Under the licensure, strict pick-up, drop-off, cleanliness, and other requirements must be met.

The New Philadelphia mall is centrally located and thriving, making it the perfect place to open up a space that will provide childcare, says Executive Director Michaela Thomas.

“This is by design because we want to offer a supervised play service that is essentially childcare. We’re going to be providing enriching activities. We’re also going to be promoting inclusivity.”

Flourish, located near the Mall’s play area, will be able to accommodate up to 14 children at a time. Once open; hopefully by early May, Thomas says they can provide for families seven days a week.

“From 11am until 7pm, Monday through Saturday and on Sunday’s from noon until six. Keep tabs on us so that you know when we open up those enrollment opportunities and get in our system so that we have your information and that when you need us all the paperwork is done and you can just book a space.”

One unique aspect is that there will not be a requirement for a child to come at a select time on a certain day. Instead, parents can utilize this service as needed with bookings between one and four hours.

A networking space is also planned to allow individuals with an enrolled child to sit down and enjoy alone time or meet with friends and other mom’s. Three private conference spaces will also be available. Additionally, there will be a nursing room and sensory friendly room for those who need it.

A cost will be applied with those details still to be finalized. Follow Flourish by Newsymom on Facebook to stay up to date.
