Nick McWilliams reporting – The Ohio Department of Transportation is set to began working on I-77 next week overnight.

A resurfacing project is slated to start May 30th for a portion of the interstate from Exit 81 in New Philadelphia to Exit 87 in Strasburg from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday.

A portion of U.S. Route 250 will also be resurfaced during the work period near the I-77 and State Route 39 interchange.

Work will be for both sides of the interstate and will be completed during the overnight hours to avoid congestion and interference with normal daytime commutes.

Crews are expected to wrap up the resurfacing around October 31st, weather permitting.

Drivers are asked to proceed with caution next week in that area and expect slow downs.
