The Dennison Fire Department responded to an early Friday morning call on State Route 800.

The confirmed structure fire was shortly after 1am and had crews from Smith Ambulance, Warwick Township, Uhrichsville fire, and the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office responding.

Dennison Fire Chief Dave McConnell says the home occupants were not injured and a cause is undetermined.

“It just basically gutted the room [which was] under construction anyhow. Fire damage in there and then there was some smoke damage throughout the house and a little bit of water damage. We’re estimated around $10,000. $8,000 for the structure and $2,000 for the contents.”

McConnell adds that, just after the fire call, a serious medical emergency was called in at a separate part of the township and Arrowhead Joint Fire assisted, with multiple Smith Ambulances going to the separate locations.
