The Newcomerstown Fire Department was toned out Sunday for a structure fire in the 600 block of Tuscarawas Avenue.
The 8:25am response initially reported a single person inside the residence, but they evacuated without injury.
Firefighters made an initial interior attack, according to their report, but conditions changed rapidly and units were pulled from the structure.
The blaze was eventually brought under control and overhaul was conducted, with units having remained on scene for about three hours.
Red Cross was contacted to assist the family, meanwhile, responding fire departments included Tri-County Joint Ambulance, Delaware Valley, and Wet Lafayette.
Newcomerstown Fire also noted that the Village’s McDonald’s supplied some food and coffee to first responders.
